Published October 2003
The Center for Imaging Research (CIR) at the UC College of Medicine
held its official opening Sept. 18, 2003. The centerpiece of the CIR is
a 4T 19-ton Varian INOVA full body human magnetic resonance imaging
system. This high-field MRI system was initially installed last fall
and scientists have been working steadily since then to prepare this
finely tuned scientific instrument for human neuroscience
investigations. Jane E. Henney, MD, senior vice president and provost
for health affairs attended the open house.
