Allied Health Partners with Woodward

Published January 2004

The College of Allied Health Sciences at the UC Medical Center is partnering with the Woodward Career Technical High School (a new CPS school housed at 7001 Reading Road in Bond Hill) to provide educational experiences in audiology, speech-language pathology, literacy, sports and exercise, nutrition and dietetics, and clinical laboratory sciences. An audiology booth was donated by Good Samaritan Hospital, and was recently installed at Woodward.

This partnership will benefit students at UC as well as Woodward. Graduate students at the College of Allied Health Sciences will have the opportunity to provide faculty-supervised service learning projects in the public school setting, offer Woodward "peer" role models for high school students who are underrepresented in allied health careers, and conduct longitudinal research studies in the Bond Hill community.
