The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce honored William K. Schubert, MD, UC professor emeritus of pediatrics, as a Great Living Cincinnatian on Feb. 26 at a dinner at the Hyatt Regency, Cincinnati. Dr. Schubert graduated from the UC College of Medicine in 1952. He was past president and CEO of Cincinnati Childrenís Hospital Medical Center from 1983 until his retirement in 1996. As the director of the pediatric residency program from 1972 until 1993, he helped train an entire generation of physicians. Dr. Schubertís primary research interests were diseases of the liver and Reyes syndrome, and he published over 80 research articles in his long career. Dr. Schubert received the Daniel Drake Award from UC College of Medicine in 1991, in recognition of his leadership, and for his compassion for the children of Cincinnati.
