The UC Division of Hematology/Oncology
will present the Fourth Annual Lung Cancer Symposium June 19 from 8
a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Kingsgate Conference Center.
Abdul Jazieh MD, MPH, interim director of
the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the UC Medical Center, chairs a
committee of 15 members who participated in securing national speakers
for the symposium.
Symposium faculty will discuss the most
up-to-date methods for diagnosing lung cancer, describe appropriate
treatments for lung cancer patients, discuss current therapies for lung
cancer, and identify the progress being made through highlights from
the 2004 American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting.
National speakers include: Alex Adjei,
MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.; Patricia Rivera, MD, University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Andrew Turrisi, MD, Wayne State
University, Karmonos Cancer Institute; David Ettinger, MD, The Sidney
Kimmell Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins; and Alan Sandler,
MD, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center Affiliate Network Program,
Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
