Nahleh Chosen for Cancer Research Training

Published August 2004

Zeina Nahleh, MD, was one of four applicants chosen to participate in the Southwest Oncology Group Young Investigators Training Course this fall.

Dr. Nahleh, assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine and associate medical director of hematology/oncology at University Pointe, was selected on the basis of her submission, "A Phase II Study of Goserelin+Anastrozole as First Line Treatment in Male Patients with Hormone Receptor Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer."

The Young Investigators Training Course is supported by the Hope Foundation and OrthoBiotech. It provides an opportunity to train young investigators in cooperative group protocol development and cancer research principles. This unique research program recently completed its fifth successful session.
