Allied Health Trains Sonographers for Local Hospitals

Published September 2004

The College of Allied Health Sciences has trained its first class of students in the newly established sonography (diagnostic ultrasound) program.

Three seniors and eight juniors completed the training, a one-year segment of the three imaging modalities required for a bachelor's degree in advanced medical imaging technology.

The new sonographers are now employed in local hospitals including Jewish, Good Samaritan, Ft. Hamilton and St. Elizabeth.

The sonography program is supported by the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and is based in the college's Department of Analytical and Diagnostic Sciences.
