Women's Heart-Health Expert Joins Allied Health

Debra Krummel, PhD, has been named endowed professor and Millennium Scholar in human nutrition by the Department of Nutritional Sciences in UC's College of Allied Health Sciences.

Dr. Krummel joins UC from the School of Medicine at West Virginia University. She is a nationally known expert in women's cardiovascular health.

"We are very pleased to recruit Dr. Krummel to the department," says Grace Falciglia, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences. "She will add to our already established research base."

During her nine years at West Virginia, Dr. Krummel was awarded 18 grants and contracts. She has published 47 papers and abstracts and is the coeditor of four books and author of 14 book chapters. Dr. Krummel is the first Millennium Scholar at the college.
