MSB Construction Nears 'Topping Off'

By Jill Hafner
Published August 2006

Work is progressing rapidly on phase 1 of the $150 million Medical Sciences Building (MSB)–CARE/Crawley Building project.

Workers are currently installing new flooring in the MSB’s Kresge lobby and the E-level corridor, encasing the new library with glass and putting some dramatic touches on the CARE/Crawley Building’s exterior, such as installing windows and constructing the atrium roof trusses and the bridges that will connect CARE/Crawley to the MSB.

With the framework almost complete, plans are under way for a topping out ceremony, which will symbolically mark the installation of the building’s final piece of steel. Watch for event announcements in upcoming communications.
