Doctoral Students Get Pinned
Published January 2008
The College of Allied Health Sciences honored its inaugural class of physical therapy doctoral students at the program’s first annual pinning ceremony Dec. 7.
The pinning will become a yearly tradition for students as they prepare for clinical training.
Jeanine Gunn, president of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association, offered a keynote address.
Lizanne Mulligan, PhD, (left) director of the physical therapy doctorate
program, “pinned” each of the 18 students, including Amanda Heitkamp (right). The physical therapy doctoral students entered the program on a master’s path in 2006.
The doctorate track was approved by the Ohio Board of Regents in early 2007.
